^^ Correct Chris - though did you see my MSN name
Drove to Carworx today and saw this, along with many other cars like Somers (with 16v lump in his car) etc

Spoke to Will and recieved, some Kent pt51 cams, out of a customers car that had only covered a few thousand miles on them (and now is going turbo route so gone for slightly milder cams).

says KCPT51 on the tops.
Only cost me £250 a bargain considering I've heard they like £380 or more from kent cams new.
Now only need to get someone to fit them then I'll get wayne @ chip wizards to remap it and I should be looking at 155-160 bhp ace.
The question is, do I buy new followers or not (£160+ for a set, plus extra fitting cost)... Cars covered 70k though
Also my mums not gonna be happy as a I dripped oil on the carpet. Will have to hope she doesn't notice before I go back to uni soon

Originally Sybez's car (it's TB and supercharged) was made to make 200 @ the wheels around 250 @ the fly. Speaking to Will he says they've been tweaking it and have it at around 220 @ the wheels now!!!

Good stuff mate, unusual choice though, I thought that 708 catcams were the top bits of kit for the gti/vts engine

everyone rates the catcam 708's for value for money. You'll get about 155-160 bhp from catcam 708's ... For £320-£340 inc vat delivered.
Kent pt51's are basically Kent's similar cam - guy on SSC got 160 bhp after remap with the kent pt51's.
However, They cost new around £380 and some places I've even read like over £400 new!
Hence people say go for cat cams as they're good cams and cheapest you can get too! I shouldn't be losing anything (but won't really gain anything either) over cat cams with these.
The fact these were at a bargain price of £250 I could not say no!

2nd hand off a guy who wants to turbo his car - hence he needs a milder cam, otherwise these cams keep one of the valves open too long for the boost (Can't remember exactly what) - anyhow ... only covered a couple of thousand miles and look mint condition so deffo bargain

are those figures based on a standard 106 gti engine?

More than likely be standard apart from exhaust and filter. Quite easy to get 160bhp from them.

No.
Based on a engine with exhaust, decat, mani, filter... then cams and remap.
