Just asked him, it was Nitromor's. He said it wasn't very good.

Nitromor's Automotive Paint Remover is what he used. He applied with a brush and removed with wire wool. Got the best finish he could with it then polished with Autosol.

Nitromoors will not melt or damage aluminium.
