Paul surely you knew that upon having a pug it was gonna have 101 problems with it.
Its abit unlucky for it to go wrong so close to you getting the cams in as your short of cash now at the moment.
Check out a couple of peugeot forums there is usually an honest mechanic that knows the inside and out of the pugs and will do an honest job for a fair price.

Im just hoping my dont fall apart just yet lol. Saying that i do have a fraction of your mileage.

Thats what puts me off Pug's, I can get a gearbox from Lee for my Nova for about £30 quid, get Lee to fit it for a fee and your looking at close to around £100 quid for a new gearbox and fitting.

Paul u seem to hve been complaining about that gearbox whine since you first had the car!

Get it fixed. Its not a new carafter a while (especially if dreiven hard) bits wear out.

Like Jodi i got a car and am having to spend £1k on replacing old shagged bits before its mint.

Get it running right/fixed run it for a while then sell on

Thats the problem I found with mine, to get the most out of them you really have to drive it hard at track days, 1/4 miles etc but it's so craply built that it cant take the abuse

on reflection selling mine was a great move
