that revvy little corsa engine will have no wear near as much torque as a trubo'd 20 litre, i recon it will be close but the scooby would pull much harder out the corners

it also has 600-700kg more weight and power sapping 4wd. it would need a big leap in HP/NM to overcome this

If a 170bhp stripped corsa is anything like my 170bhp stripped 1.6 16v nova then it wouldn't even be a race, the scooby would be like a mobile chicane

Standard UK Wagon - 215bhp @ 5600rpm /214lb/ft @ 4000rpm.
After 80mph I reckon it could go eitherway.

A 160bhp 2.0 corsa can pass a UK impreza wagon 220bhp or so with not much of a fight on a straight....
I got a slight idea of what would be best and i would say the Corsa in terms of it being light and nimble.
But i would only listen to one persons view on here and thats AK, he does have a Scooby AND a track Corsa

Impreza will have the advantage, especially coming out of corners. In my opinion obviously Stcheven

Where have you got 1200kg? Your car weighs 1322kg
Standard Impreza saloon will do 14.2 I don't know what the wagon will do.
A standard Leon Cupra will do a low 16.
I cant see you doing a 14sec 1/4 mile...
