update lads. cars going in the morning. im so excited. get the engine swap done, guages fitted, rear disc conversion plumbed in and brake pipes into the car for the proportioning valve... feel like im a randy 16yr old about to lose his virginity...

Anybody got any ideas of things to look out for when i go to pick it up???
apart from general tidiness, bolts the same etc etc

check the fuel lines are done properly, brake servo vaccum hose, throttle and clutch cable are adjusted right and that wiring has been soldered and covered with heatshrink and is tidy, not crimped and taped up.

i'd of got it sprayed before engine went in, then bay could of been done do

the bays already done along with below n flitchs and archs etc.. look at link on the previous page. wheels r shite. i got them on the calibra i bought for the engine. just put them on as i dont want to ruin me new speedlines. am i definately not sending a newly painted car to a mechanic for him to score in bits etc etc

i disagree with dave a. if you solder a loom half way down it can be quite brittle and cause problems that are hard to trace. if a loom is extended/ spliced in a flexable location i will always crimp and heatshrink as it allows abit of flexibilty. easy to spot a bodge job though.

MAJOR PROBLEMS
have a full mtech type 2 conversion kit. the offside mount fitted but when its mounted to the engine its sittin about 3/4 inchs way to high. the bonnet would never close??? Anyone else had any similar problems with this??? pics to follow now...

the guy fittin it has never used an mtech kit, he has his own kits he makes/gets made. hes gonna get me one of his mounts but just dont understand this. saw so many mtechs etc etc...

engine does look a bit slanted but doesnt look too high, if anything the gearbox end looks too low

yes gearbox side isnt mounted properly yet. its the pics the engine is sky high. i couldnt believe.. no one heard of this before??
