Another artists impression
Looks more like a shrunken Astra to me.
I'd buy it if it looked like that though!

I've seen all sorts of power figures and engine sizes on my searches. The most common seems to be around 190-200bhp with the 1.6 turbo engine.
The 1.6 engine is in the Meriva VXR but with only 177bhp. Channel 4's first drive of Meriva:

I know the chances of it are slim but if they dont make it 200 they are shooting themselves in the foot.
But then again if they do make it 200bhp then journalists will say they have given it too much power
so they cant win really

vauxhall are renowned for making stupid decisions when it comes to competition,
the corsa GSI 106 bhp compared the vts 128 if vauxhall were using their brains they woudlve out the 20xe in the gsi and the LET in the astra gsi

Vauxhall couldn't have had the cheaper astra (if they put the LET in) pissing all over the top of the range Omega. They have to stagger performance relative to price.
I'd like to see 200bhp

This is what they tend to do all the time. You don't see Renault restricting a Clio so that it can't keep up with a Laguna though?
vauxhall confuse the crap out of me

Yeah they should go the same route as Renault.
If they made the Corsa faster than the Astra I dont think it would steal many sales. They are in different classes.
I like the Clio 197 now

I understand your point, but for old women performance is the last thing they care about whereas you don't buy a VXR to do the weekly shopping run
