Lovely.. but hook it up to a PC, if u using some crappy console, whack it on a pc with some proper graphics
360, crappy console?
I got sick of pc games a while ago and got a laptop instead.
Thanks for the suggestion though
Technically yes, id call the 360 a stroke of genious because it fools people into thinking its such a great console...
It is just a PC in a box..

I'm not the biggest 360 fan in the world and would rather go for a ps3 but the 360 isn't just a pc.
The original xbox was though.

it has it's pros just like any other console. To call it crappy is a bit silly to be honest. It won't be anywhere near as powerful as the PS3 but there are other factors to consider, like the games that are being developed for it.
I suspect you are a Playstation fanboy with nothing better to do than just slate xbox/nintendo owners.
It does what I want it to, and that's have a laugh with my mates playing pro evo, project gotham etc... games like Fight Night Oblivion, PGR3, GRAW and Condemned look absolutely stunning. Xbox Live is also fantastic.
I'd agree somewhat that it is just a pc in a box, but wasn't this to be expected somewhat? It's Microsoft after all, there are going to be some things that rub off. At least I wont need to upgrade it every month

to join in, the 360 is genius and after hearing the stories about the PS3 being slower than the xbox (stories of the samsung? memory not up to it) they are bloody impressive, also considering a decent pc game machine will be around a grand or so

PS3 is slower where did you hear this Dom?
From what I've heard so far the PS3 seemed to be shaping up to march all over the 360 in terms of technicaly specs.
Obviously not.

bar graphics dont make a machine, look at the psp sales compared to the nintendo ds.
its greatly outselling the psp in most territories and in japan its selling about 7 times more.
just goes to show people sometimes do take decent games over graphics.

completely agree mate. I would rather play a game with average graphics but an amazing storyline and interaction than a game that last me 2 hours but looks good.
Hence why Final Fantasy 7 is one of my fave games.
I do think however the Japanese go mental over the DS though. They love all those weird puzzle games etc..

look at Metal Gear, awesome game but how long did it take to complete, a few hours. Hardly worth the £49.99 or whatever it was when it first came out. So many games fall under this catagory.

Dave -
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32171 <- About the memory
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32159 <- GPU
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32728 <- Dev gear too expensive
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=31805 <- Controllers are cack
Plus what dave posted, shows that the ps3...which is what over a year late, has suffered from lots of problems (i know the xbox have a few, but there pretty minor compared) and isn't going to be as good as what people first thought.
And Dave & co, you can't justify it buy saying "well it's not the graphics that make the machine" - otherwise you wouldn't own a 360
In black and white, it looks like sony may loose out on this to microsoft the new runners to the console market!
Edit - from what dave posted,
quote:
The best looking PS3 game, Assasin's Creed, was actually running on an Xbox 360.
Now that says something

I never said the graphics of a game didn't interest me
They're just not as important as the gameplay.

Dave - edited mate, was too early to think properly
Its an interesting read though (whats been posted) - but until its been released no one can do a propper 100% compare obviously, but with the current data floating about it seems like the PS3 isn't worth 5 pence

exactly mate I still think it'll be a success, it's a playstation and it'll sell millions on the name alone.
Noticed the dates on the articles were from June/July. They may have sorted things....

as for your edit, I bought the 360 because I liked it as a complete package. I love how Live is so easy to setup and get into, of course the graphics on some games are what makes the titles, GRAW for example. But games like Condemned not only look stunning but are genuinely awesome to play.
If I could play FF7 again on the 360 I would same graphics and everything.

The inq isn't exactly a reliable source
The ps3 and 360 can do just about exactly the same amount of processing.
They differ greatly in the way they do it though.
Until games come out for both later on next year that show the best of both consoles nobody will ever know what is the best.
The ps3 is a very highly capable machine though and anybody who has came out to say its not is an ms or nintendo fanboy.
