nope, but then again if you're that interested in watching eastenders in the best possible quality then fine
The main reason for me purchasing the Bravia was because of the 360. I'm also looking at getting SKY HD when the boxes come down in price.
I don't watch much TV anyway to be honest.

He is asking about the hd lcd to play a 360 or a ps3 on.
The only hd crt option is the samsungs which aren't any good.
I don't know where you people are getting lcd's are nowhere near crt's from.
You are either looking at asda own brand lcd's or you don't have a clue.
Go and compare a 360 on a crt and on and lcd steve then come back and tell me you want the crt over the lcd.

exactly John.
I don't think there's any doubt that the PQ on an LCD is far superior for HD signals when compared to a CRT.
CRT do however give brilliant SD pictures. Though LCD is catching up quite fast.

Yes normal sd tv will still be slightly better on a standard def crt, the lcd still has to resize.
I based my comments on knowing steve was wanting it for HD.
IMO SD being slightly worse is a small price to pay for being able to display HD, which the normal CRT's will never do.

I couldn't believe the difference between the PQ on my standard Sony Trinitron 32" flatscreen and the Bravia when playing DVDs. Especially over component input.. just stunning and another reason to go for an HD set.

So I could do away with my 17" CRT and 28" widescreen and buy a LCD HDTV and watch TV/use Windows on it with no problems?

From Comet dave, was about £50-£60 I think and it does tilt, certainly enough to get at the wires and stuff.

makes me laugh when you see adverts on the shopping channel for HD TVs, and they show you a video of the TV in action and they are going
"and you can clearly see the quality its lots better than a standard digital TV"
Im thinking, im watching a HDTV through a normal TV, I aint gonna be able to tell the qualities better

we are getting in HD LCD's/Plasmas that are around 6-12months ahead of those in the UK, and they are still blatently behind CRT's in terms of picture quality
for Standard Definition signals yes, I'd agree.
no HD. australian digital television is ALL in HD
