And when you add on the hd-dvd player theres not much difference at all.
ive heard that by christmas the 360 premium will be down to 200 quid, and the earlier games will be platinums and only 20 each. cheapest ive heard the ps3 will be is 370 but most people have been saying around 400 for the decent spec'd one. i know the blu ray dvd players are probably going to be more than that but we shall have to wait and see if blu ray is better than hd dvd, and worth the extra money

check out the AV Forums. Many say that HD DVD has already won the battle over Blu-Ray

have i missed the release of the price for the hd-dvd player add on, link please?
As im sure they havnt released a price, so tbh thats purely conjecture you dont know if they will be the same price if you add the hd player onto the 360.
unless ive missed the price confirmation.

I'm pretty sure they haven't released a definitive price for the HD DVD player as of yet.

HD DVD will cost $199 so around 120quid here.
I thought the PS3 didnt look that bad to be honest, it does weight a lot more than the xbox too

Blu Ray will not take off just like Sony's other media formats, Betamax, Mini Disc, UMD. As for the price drop no way they will drop the price of the premium pack by £80.

Blu ray is a totaly different ball game from Mini Disc and UMD.
Although betamax was the technically better format and still lost.
Nobody can predict who will win yet though.

Somebody has a disc that had dvd, blu ray and hd-dvd on it.
The more viable option is a player that plays all formats, which will be out soon.

Explain how blu ray will flop?
And don't just bring this thread up in 2 years time and say look I was right.
You have a 50/50 chance.

as john said its to early to tell, and all the blu ray disc's ive seen on sale have been for under 15 quid which isnt to bad, you just need an expensive blu ray dvd player to use it, or a ps3

firstly, sony cant even get it to work on disk sizes of 25gig+
secondly the majority seem to be backing HD
Blue ray production/hardware costs are a lot more than HD DVD,

The 50 gig discs work fine on players, only issue i've read was firmware on a samsung drive i think.
Majority of who?
Production costs for both will drop quickly.
