my mate has 2k to spend, he's buying a 2.0 16v corsa gsi!!! Wots wrong with that???? Said there is a few about too. Other options - Escort rst, seat ibiza cupra sport mk2 2.0 16v, almera gti, 300zx, 200sx....... the list is endless!!!!!

honda civic 1.8 vti, ok they look boring and have 5 doors but there not slow at 170bhp. if you haggle a few hundred off the asking price then you easily find a few for sale and have yourself a fast reliable car.

or what about a seat ibiza cupra 16v? same engine as a mk3 golf gti but lighter shell

I'd get something with a c20xe no doubt, preferably a corsa (what else? lol) plenty of tuning available reliable and cheap!

Tat was my idea!!! Honda's are boring, i drove my mates ITR DC2 and i found vtec boring compared to turbo!!!

Honda B16A engines are far from boring in my opinion, mate of mine has one in his EK civic and it makes an incredible noise when the v-tec kicks in, and goes like mad. Amazing for an NA engine.

thats the thing, it's all noise!!!! I drove a dc2 with the B18C lump and it didn't do it for me, and b16a's certainly don't "go like mad!!!!! They just sound like they are!!!!!

Mk2 or 3 golf ..... I've just bought an 8 valve Mk3 Gti to do up over the winter...

They go for pennies these days..

Get a nice GT for 2k mate , if looked after there great car's, mine is mint now its got the cooler and chip on.
