£49,000 for an eggenberger (sp) RS500 I understand, its got heritage, its fast, its been used and can be used again, if it was kept in a garage and just started occasionally at least it'd sound good.
But 8k+ for a fiesta with a crossflow, that you can't drive cos it would de-value it, seriously think about what you're saying
Cars are made to be driven, people saying that the fiesta is worth it cos its a piece of history should go and buy a ming vase or something.

A Nova Sport with the same mileage in the same condition would fetch the same money.

i find that very hard to believe. How many thousand XR2's were there tho? compared to 500 (ish) nova sports.

Right i'm with Marc on this. I can appreciate its heritage and the fact its hardly been touched, but £8k is mental. Its not exactly special, it used to be a run of the mill production car. A Nova Sport or something of equal unique stature fair enough.

Mmm, You'd choose a basic everyday corsa over an XR2 which everyone loves and remembers as being an icon....

The people saying thats its not worth 8k drive newer cars, I drive a newer car and drive my missus 200bhp Astra as well, but I wouldn't trade them for my Nova, no way. Older cars just have a better feeling to them, like you are part of the car, no driving aids (not the sexually transmitted disease).

I'm saying its not worth it and I've owned old cars before. I agree that older cars do have more driving appeal, which is exactly my point about this particular example. It costs 8k+ but you can't drive the damn thing cos to do so would de-value it massively. So its 8k for an ornament and lets face it even a hardened ford nut would admit that there are better ornamental cars to be bought for 8k.
