No the 4500 service interval put us right off and prefer the look of the Scooby TBH.

yeah and really cheap to maintain too. He's worried about the scoobys running costs, hes hardly going to go get an evo that needs servicing every 100 mile is he.

Motorpoint cars etc are imports too which means it needs a CAT1 fitting...no scooby warrenty etc etc

Don't want an import, running costs aren't a massive issue all costs are split 2 ways so isn't that bad.
Just been looking on Graham Goode website for servicing costs and parts etc, its not really expensive at all.

I love my one to bits! Only thing that is expensive is petrol really. Should ideally run it on super unleaded and maybe octane booster aswell. Servicing isn't too bad unless you get it done at a dealer which i would rather get a decent independant garage to do it. Cambelts and clutches are actually pretty easy to do but people seem to think that they are hard jobs because of the flat 4 engine. Handling and traction and will be a lot better than an astra. Does it have dccd the diff controller? Would be better if it does. Blob eye is also the nicest shape out of the new imprezas! Would deffo get a full exhaust for it tho. Can be had for about £300. Get one now!

I think you should as the STi has a whole host of extras and WRX doest as well as a bullet proof engine which has some serious tunning potential.
Although you may not want to mod it, surely it'll be worth a punt to see what the whole scooby craze is all about? Then if you dont like it move on as surely the scooby will be worth more than the VXR in years to come with it being a sought after model?
Myself and Jr got to drive a stock(ish) wrx a few weeks back and I wasnt too impressed but after seeing a P1 on the rollers nearly hitting 400bhp with minimal mods I think the STi will be the one to go for

Went to look at it again, looking at it, it doesn't grab you visually as much as the Astra does, everyone knows what a Scooby is and it doesn't seem to have that WOW factor about it.
Now where the Astra cannot compete is the driving experience you get from the Scooby, I think the Astras novelty would wear off a lot quicker than the Scooby, and that noise 
We really are stumped now, this was a bad thing to happen really

Get the Subaru. Don't you have an astra GSi at the minute? I can't see the benifit of changing from a gsi to a VXR myself, theres little difference in speed, and nothing a remap couldnt put right.
Subaru is in a different league to the VXR. Just a shame they didnt do the VXR in 4WD
