Lol,

Honda Vtec FWD's are always slighty quicker 0-60 than most of their rivals... reasons being... Diff as standard, High revving (so can easily reach 60 in 2nd gear) lack of torque (which means they don't spin the wheels up when launching) and finally the gearbox is on the left of the engine (looking from the front of the car) and when they launch the engine tilts forward (as opposed to rearwards like vauxhalls) digging over the front wheels (as opposed to trying to lift the wheels off the ground, transmitting weight rearwards like vauxhalls)

Its 5.7 for the EK9 N1, which is the even more stripped out version, and low 6 for the normal EK9. Don't forget, it only has the same amount of torque as most other 1.6s and so it isn't going to be amazing up the 1/4. A standard 265bhp RX7 can only just get 14.00. The XE Nova/Corsa will have more torque, as its a larger engine.

You got your figures from the net, which are incorrect and I bet you have NEVER driven one but just assume they are shit because your warped figures say they get to the 1/4 in 15 seconds which is a very quick time for a standard hatchback.

Exactly Rob. Its no less torque than the majority of NA 1.6s as you've said, but compared to an most engines with equal power, it is far less torque.

But anyway. It has VTEC.

I've driven an EG Civic with that Engine in and im not so sure it would have a Corsa XE (with decent suspension) round a track... From experience standard Civic handling is shocking! They have loads of potential but in standard trim its not great.

Again, I haven't driven the EK9 so don't know how much different... better? the handling is???

The handling on it was easily one of the best i've driven, either FWD or RWD. Mine had Tanabe coilovers mind and slightly different size tyres compared to normal, so it wasn't completely standard.
