Embarrassment is my best guess....

No offence to the corsa people but vaux always maintained they wouldn't 'dilute' the VXR brand with a corsa variant.

Seems the VXR branding might be working then?

Meriva didn't seem to effect sales, I would say thats more pathetic than a Corsa VXR.

It's not a big delay, like Jr says. The car has been out 3 months. It's VERY rare that a performance model of a new car comes out within 6 months, let alone 3...

And how will it dilute the brand Jules? It's 'the fastest VXR bar the Monaro' according to VXRonline.co.uk...

astra has more than 200! i think its not bad value either!!! some info lol -

The new Corsa VXR will be a direct rival to the Mini Cooper S when it goes on sale in spring '07. Like the Mini, the new Corsa uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. That's where the similarities end. The new Corsa produces a blistering 200bhp - 25bhp more than the Cooper S manages. It doesn't end there. Not only is the Corsa more powerful than the £15,995 Mini but, according to insiders, it will cost less too. Expect prices to start at around £15,500 making the Corsa VXR incredible value for money.

It won't handle as well as the Mini I can accept that, but I don't expect it to be miles off it in the handling stakes.

I still think that the bumpers on those spy shots are dummies. I just can not see a mass produced car like the corsa VXR having such 'modified styled' bumpers. I think the pics were released just to build the hype, and get people to hold on to there money a little longer

Its going to be a massive car for vauxhall which ever way you look at it! Its been some time since the corsa had a sporting model in the range, and the VXR brand bandwagon will ensure people want one

Should be good for vauxhall I just hope the styling and handling is good enough for people to part with thier money!
