It bothers me that i'm incapable of buying an economical car any more.

My daily driver gets through 60 quid in a fortnight and I usually only use it to commute to work and back.

This however is not as bad as my new car which I WAS using daily and would get through about 63 quid a week. I'd fill her up every Saturday night, and that was after doing fewer miles.

It also seems kind of silly that my small 1.6 litre hatchback does about 15 to the gallon at full tilt.

I should be sponsored by Shell.

Costs just as much to use a bus these days anyway. £4 to get to town and back (1hour total round trip) can get there on £3 or under in the cors a

But it doesn't bother me tbh

It certainly is sir.

You of all people are well qualified to know this fact.

Bet the 944 is good on juice though.

Lovely engine. Lovely car in fact.

If anything bad happened to the Merc and I got a reasonable payout, i'd deffo be after a 44 or a 28 if I could find either cheap enough.

state the obvious, i was aware of that but in this context my point was still valid.

I get fed up with people saying i bet the MPG isnt very good on that.

Or whats the MPG like.

Mabe im not old enough or something but when my tank is empty i fill it up.
if it last 100 miles then it last 100 miles. If it last 300 it last 300.

I wouldnt drive a sports car if i was botherd about MPG.

So does it bother you?

bothers me a lot

i do 1500-2000 miles a month

it costs twice as much to do it in my bm then my corsa

why pay twice as much to go to work in the dark and back in the dark on your own doen a boring road?

the bm is reserved for fun driving

Like above, bothers me cos my car takes me approx 2K miles per month with work. Only really use it to keep an eye on performance, if it suddenly dropped I'd get it looked at. 540 miles to a £43 diesel tank full in my Astra 1.7CDTi

It used to cost me a fortune in the Toyota Camry 2.2 petrol and best is the Astra is quicker!

Probably something to do with the Grandad driving

never bothered me untill i had a powerfull everyday car.

The cally likes to drink juice, and as colin says sitting in traffic burning £££ on the way to work can wear a little thin

I have a 1.28v as a second car now and even thats bad on fuel, im starting to really really want a diesel :O

Same, I just like to know how many miles I have left, as the fuel guages are always dodgy!

It bothers me but not the extent that I make a note of every journey

If I did less miles then I wouldn't be as bothered about MPG.

944 can be very good on juice if you treat her with respect and go slow start going that wee bit faster though and she reminds you that all good ladys swallow

928 wouldnt be to good on petrol but it does have that added bonus of 310bhp

you have good taste

Bothers me

With the high milage i do to work and back in M6/Birmingham traffic, I worked out that if i had to run a VXR, it'd cost me in excess of £300 a month in fuel on top of insuring it and paying the loan off.

IMO that's a huge amount of money to be committed to paying unconditionally every month, just to get to work and back .

It is a factor when buying a new car.

I want a combination of speed/mpg.

Thats why i'm not considering a scooby for my next car, even though the performance appeals to me.

My 1.8T ibiza hits 100 in 14.6, and still returns 45mpg if i need it to.

I reset the clocks everytime I fill up. Like to see what I get to a tank.
I'd get scared if I only had 100 miles to a tank and know somethings wrong
