I'm a recruitment consultant and i'm not suprised about some of these comments!!! Some agencies are good, some consultants are just shit!!! Best bet is to sign up to every single one in your local area, ask them what there clients do etc...
we get loads of people walk through our door and can be really rude so we just fob them off.

Steve where is the best place to look for creative jobs? Graphic design etc?

Go to carphone warehouse they do well on commission. O2 dont even get commission so I wouldn't bother.

God knows mate, i deal with industrial work, i would imagine you'd have to look for specialist agencies, Hayes Montrose deal with basically everything. Best bet is to look on the Jobcentreplus website for what you want then just contact the companies direct or the agencies.
