I dunno why I include it, just think its maybe one of the main things they want to know....ok you worked there - why did ya leave!!

Mine is quite clumpy with text, but its kept to the advised 2 pages & is pretty detailed. I'll get someone to have a read of it tomorrow, see what they think.

• Design, scheduling and preparation of weekly and monthly management reports using Cognos Planning and Microsoft Excel
• Maintenance of Cognos reports, data warehouse and web applications
• Design and maintenance of Sage reports, nominal ledger and users profiles
• Assisting in the production and delivery of training for new IT systems and reports
• Design and build of adhoc reports
• Identification and elimination of unutilised / unproductive reports and procedures
• Planning and execution of projects

Spot on advice IMO.

Leave out the technical detail col, that's for interviewing stage or even past that.

It looks pretty good though.

Chris why would a company make 3 people sit interviews and do tests for a job that didn't exist (I'm not taking the piss just wondered why?).

I need to write up a CV, it would only have 2 companies on (but about 5 different jobs )

I think what he was describing was an open invitation day for careers help, where people could experience the procedure of sitting in a 'mock up' interview. I understand that Chris chose to attend and sat in 3 'mock up' interviews with 3 different interviewers. Because he performed so well in the 'mock up' interviews, the company/organisation hosting the event created a job vacancy specifically for him...

Impressive stuff..

Ah I see, sorry I never went through that whole open invitation day type stuff (that graduates tend to do), sounds pretty impressive to get a job on the back of that though

Sorry, should really clear this up.

What happened was that an agency told me that a company were holding interviews at a local hotel for Financial Accountants. I used to be an accountant but was boring so got into Finance Systems.

Anyway, went along. Told them who I was and what I did. They said the interviews were for Financial Accounts only but they would interview me anyway. By the end of the interview, they were impressed and decided that they would create a role in the company to suit my skills and gave me a job.

Sorry, I didnt explain it too well.
