Average warrenty claim for engine problems on an E46 M3 is £400 so not too bad. Running costs aren't bad either, certainly less than an Evo or equivilent. I'd personally get something newish and cheapish to run if your budget is 15k, don't forget an expensive car to run will cost you 5k+ a year to run with insurance, servicing, parts!

Exactly - your insurance company may also need a tracker, which adds to the running costs.

m3 - could've been a real possibility over the vxr, but looks like it'll cost too much initially and with running costs as well.
dc5 - tempting - very nice looking car
astra gsi - also tempting, but again not quite as nice as the vxr i think
corsa vxr and clio - want something slightly bigger
have to say i'm still leaning towards the vxr, i think it looks amazing...

VXR is a great car, but for £15k there is better out there 2nd hand.
Teggy Type R with a handfull of engine and brake and suspension mods for me.
But as a daily driver, the VXR is great fun. Doesn't like traffic or stopping though.

I would be torn between the luxury of a specd up 330ci, the coolness (but impractibility) of an s2k and would end up buying a dc5 probably.
Anything with massive running cost, huge maintanance costs etc would put me off.
So no evo's, p1's, gtr skylines', v8 bmw's for me...

Remaining motionless then. Stopped in traffic, not actually "slowing down".

Doesn't like the town driving what so ever, gear changing is bad, fuel consumption is ridiculous around town, but better than Evo, Scooby I should imagine, just worse than I have ever experienced. £40 quids worth of fuel lasted me for 256 miles around town driving.
