Now compare that to a cupra and the results are much more believable

corsa xe - 150bhp
980kgs kerb weight

0-60 - 7.13
155 - bhp/ton (what you really need to go on)
1/4 - 15.16

LC - 180bhp
1320 kerb weight
0-60 - 7.7
138.55 bhp/ton
15.72 - 1/4 mile

Probably a later Leon Cupra or a cupra with an lcr kit on you raced

yes leon cupra then 7.13 i about right for an xe corsa TBH some may be a bit quicker some may be a bit slower but id says its going to be around that ball park figure

a 106 gti is comparable performance wise up to about a ton

I drove one recently and it wasn't really as quick as i hoped and felt a bit tame. Still was only standard though and i still think they are great cars. Quick enough for everyday driving and would love to go in a tuned one.

Go for it! I love mine, just a pain to keep clean being black I've had a few little problems with mine, all were common problems with the Leon though and they were all fixed under warrenty.

Go take one for a test drive and you'll love it!

I've had a Corsa XE and I'd say the LCR is slightly faster and handles a lot better. I had coilovers on the Corsa but the LCR just feels a whole lot better in the bends.

Mates got one, Nice car.... Suspensions a bit soft when you really start to hammer it. And also is very quiet! He brought a Miltek system and its still very quiet But now its got a K&N which produces lots of nice wastegate Chatter

With regards to straightline speed.... a bit dissapointing to be honest... his old 172bhp XE Corsa was quicker and top end we can only get the LCR to 140mph on the road angel (Car was standard then). Buts he's tried the REVO Chip (5 hour free trial) Which totally transformed it... sooo much more torque. He'll be ordering that soon

Overall impression is very good though. You will defo like it!

so you have less bhp/ton, a lot less torque yet you beat one

i raced my mate si in his lcr that had a revo remap-aint sure bout his figures but he wasnt near me until i was 5th cog limiter.

my xe was cammed mapped full zorst headwork etc....and weighed the same as a hinari toaster

Who gives a monkey whether its quicker or slower than a Corsa XE?
At the end of the day, the LCR is muchos better.
Lovely cars as std. Handles great for a fairly big hatchback and, its performance figures aren't bad at all.

Never planning on going to 140mph anyway, or race other cars (e.g. corsa's) and don't want it be loud so that's quite good that it's slient'ish.

Yes your right... Just commenting on a mildly modded XE Corsa.

Not a lot in it anyway. The Torque per tonne is actually slighty less than the Corsa. 149lb's ft, but thats just being @nal Handling and braking the Cupra is suprior for sure.

If you have the money theres not a lot of better in the FWD 5 Door Hot hatch group. Infact there isn't any actually???

Thats alright then. But when I said it was quiet I meant... shhhhhhh... very quiet. The chip made the turbo whistle a lot more though. And the 5 doors would come in handy if youve got a family or give a lot of lifts

good cars i owned one for 6 months,
only downside was fuel it did on average 18 mpg around town and a poor 32 on the motorway.

people make me laugh about the interior it's the same as an audi S3 so hardly boring.get one with recaros if you can alot more comfy

18mpg round town, my mate in his r32 gets 17 round town and 28ish on the motorway. always thought the lcr would have a bit better mpg than what you got.

i like the looks of the interior, just meant a few owners have pointed out they develop squeaks and rattles easily
