theres also a vid on there somewhere of a 172 vs a 106 gti/vts (cant remember which) round a track. not a lot in it.

how is

a 172 6.6secs
match to a 106 gti of 8secs?

the same driver in a 172 would do a better lap than in the 106 gti

a 172 is not 6.6 - 60 and a 106 gti is not 8 secs to 60

both are low - mid 7's

i have also raced my mate in his 172 cup down the strip quite a few times, never anything in it, and was actually faster on a few occasions although i blame his driving.

still the clio is a second quicker over 1/4 mile, plus will pull away even more after 60
