Yeah i remember being blown away when i first drove my old one...till i drove a proper car

Seriously though they are fun at times Brakes were really good on mine though

Not really.. suppose the gearbox has to go sometime.. and knocked the clutch out with it. Can't afford to fix it either

Been in a few but never driven 1 myself. Had a 205 1.9 years ago with a 1.6 box on it. how would a 106 compare to this?

106gti is sposed to bea bit quicker than the 1.9 205gti

with the 1.6 gearbox your 205 might well of had the edge, wouldnt be suprised if it was even though

I see from other forums that alot of people still like the 1.9 205 as a track car. Is this because they are better on track or just cheaper than the 106

probably cheaper,i think ak off here bought and track prepped his 205 gti for just over 1k, i have no idea on how they compare oh handling though

cheaper, the tu 16v lumps are easier to tune for more power than the 8v 1.9 lumps

great fun little cars, easily better than a 2 litre corsa. (even though they are french shitboxes)

make sure you fill the boot with spare gearboxes and clutches though as they seem to be made of plastic, have had 3 enquiries at Vspot about fitting recon boxes in the last few weeks.

they respond well to cams, we have fitted a few sets and they have the benefit of having adjustable cam pulleys as standard

oh and, a mate just bought a china blue gti the other week, in a straight line their was nothing in it, neck and neck more or less, me in xe corsa and him in gti.

blue 106 was running mild mods and about 130bhp i think
Green had a fair whack done, cams etc, rallye gear box.....
