England can then play 2 out and out wingers both with different attributes and still have a defensive midfield with hargreaves.
I fully expect to see a better balanced England team and not just because of the opposition.

Please don't compare Becks to Downing. In his prime Becks was the best at what he did, Downing is nowhere that standard. Downing is a boring player who offers a few aimless crosses every now and then.

He's impressed me once this season when you's played and he made about 2 or 3 assists and scored from outside the box...BUT that's the first time he's looked like he new where he was crossing it imo.
He could end up being ok, but he isn;t yet.

I remember that game, cant remember who it was against though. If he played like that week in week out no one would argue but hes been poor this season.

yeah thats a fair point, against bigger teams it wouldnt work at all. However that team has 3 of the best defenders in world football at the moment so against Andorra id say that would be a safe team to play. Confidence comes from wins, we need an attacking team and plenty of goals to lift the spirit. Mclaren obviously thinks otherwise.
