Speak to Mark too, he might be able to get them slightly cheaper for you from Newman maybe?

Or you could get an account with them yourself, it's not hard

oil surge and fucked lifters

Are they std hydraulic lifters?

You not worried you have damaged any bearings if you think you suffered oil surge

You shim them to stop them having to pump up so much, or so I believe.
It's not the duration of the cams that necesarily dictates the need for solids, constant high revving can cause failure IIRC.

Autosprint 268deg (IIRC) they're re-grinds not blanks. I have Brosters 288deg Newmans to go in.

Get some newmans solid lifter they are the business the RS boys all use them.

they are good, non shim type ones, but they dont do them for the x16xe, however you wont need to shim the standard hydroic lifters, i ran the 288's without a problem on standard lifters.....

newman do have some solids to fit the x16xe, they are a shim type tho.

oli, id try just a new set of hydrolic lifters, they should be fine, the 288's have standard base circle, hence the std lifters are fine.

It would make life easier.
Mine's a C16XE btw.

Rob it may be because my lifters were tired and old anyway, but the guy I got the cams off said shimmng may be required, best give him a call it's Geoff at Autosprint 01675 464857

if the base circle is ground away and your going to abuse the engine then shimming MAY be required. but they shouldnt grind them away to that extent.....
