That would ruin the whole look of the car then. The idea of the focus rs was to be unique and individual, hence being limited edition and people generally not wanting/needing to modify them in regards to exterior but focusing on tuning the car up etc.

VXR- I don't think jill was using the 350z as a "benchmark" just an example because of an article she's convinced she's read. She said herself before she left work earlier that the VW golf gti/r32 Mk5 would have been a better example to use in her opinion if she was going to "benchmark" the focus rs with anything.

I like the Focus rs, like VXR says it doesn't attract the same sort of people to buy it as certain cars etc and does have a good road presence.

Awesome awesome awesome car!

Tottally unbiased opinion there then? .

TBH I think they look nice - only thing you need to ask yourself is that because they're a limited edition i've seen some cars priced more than a new style ST.

It probably speaks volumes about it being the better car, and your more likely to get more of your moneyback, but the initial cost would put me off .

yeah totally unbiased!!! But seriously it really is the best car ive ever driven and owned.
The RS's are holding their value more then ST's but that means you will loose less when you sell it
e.g we had an 06 plate with 5k on the clock for 15k whilst a 53 plate RS was 14k

I think they suit it more too, but making it look the lesser model would put me off getting those wheels.
Ive seen a few with black wheels they look good.

because you can count the number of spokes when the cars moving
Dont get me wrong, they are lurrrrberly wheels though and ive always loved multi spokes. That was the second mod i was gonna do to my rs, until i saw a few St's in Imperial blue and thought "hmmmm, actually im gonna keep her how she is"

Think Vik meant that those alloys look similar to st170 wheels, therefore could be mistaken for an st170 ie-the lesser model at a quick glance

I do like the standard wheels aswell.

Next time I see an ST I'll have to count the spokes to make sure its not an RS with OZ Superlegs on

ANYWAY.....
get an rs and put the wheels you like on it

its all personal opinion! Mine is, that i didnt want it to look like an ST equally i wanted to keep mine standard. The wheels look good but on mine i decided to keep mine the same

and Dbenson yep thats what i meant as even on the FRSOC forum they have found the same about st's being mistaken for RS's

I would like the standard wheels if they were a little larger and maybe white. They are just a bit too plain for me

I read in AutoExpress, today, that the plans for the new Focus RS have been axed now
Something to do with emissions being too high?

Not meaning to be argumentitive in the slightest but anyone who can't tell the difference between an rs and an imperial blue st, well basically I wouldn't be that fussed about what they thought

Parts are quite reasonable being a ford, but RS specific bits are more ££ (new clutch is like £400+ apparently). Also, insurance group is 16a so guess it depends on your age, postcode, individual situation as to what quote you get. Think the ST170 is insurance group 15, and the new ST's are group 17. Also apparently Ford may be bringing out a new RS at some point with est 300bhp or something (sure I read it somewhere)
