Car's are getting heavier, bigger and taller. Can do what you want with suspension and geometry, but you still have a car with a higher centre of gravity, and more weight to try and put round the corner.

Not that surprising really is it?

I would still take the corsa out of the two. I could live with the half a second difference on the track and have a nicer daily car. Be a bit more exclusive too as I see the new 197 sport thingys on a daily basis round this way and am still yet to see a corsa vxr on the road

After driving a Corsa VXR the other day I think its nice as an everyday car although I would always wished I'd got the Mini instead.

Gav I was told If i ordered one now I wouldnt see it till November. They are not even allowed to sell the demos till sept and they aint even allowed to take them home to thrash them

Fad- My mate works at Vauxhall and he was allowed to take the demo one home. Shame he swerved to miss something and hit a curb £1700 worth of damage to the front suspension. Oops. To say they were pissed off with him is an understatement

1.5 seconds slower around the track, so what? in any other circumstances the corsa will be faster, road races where people can't drive like tiff neddell the corsa will be faster in less experienced hands because it wont need to have the guts thrashed out of it to make it move

i know someone, that you all know... that could have taken a corsa vxr away the day that it was driven by them

doesnt really take much more skill to hold down the throttle for longer

and why would you want it to be faster on the roads? the roads arent for racing on

it doesnt require anymore skill to thrash a car than any other way of driving, infact people with less skill actually usually end up thrashing the car

I was just trying to work out how much slower it was, as it could have been 1.5 seconds over a 13 mile track, or a 1 mile track

Wasn't even the full circuit And the corsa lost 1.5 seconds. Thats a BIG gap on a 1 min 16 circuit. The corsa just seemed so much more twitchy round the bends. I though it would suffer round the long sweeping fast right hander, but it was already .5 behined by then.

Corsa didn't seem to suffer with understear like many people are saying.

I still prefer the clio sport looks wise, but the corsa still kills the clio int he interior.

Still, vauxhall make their cars soft, i've got no doubt that putting the VXR on a good suspension package and a IC/Exhaust/Remap combo will put it slightly ahead of the clio. Their NA engines are harder to get power from cheaply (compared to the turbo'd VXR).
