why not put the 1.4 in and keep the redtop until you can afford it then swap it back

exactly what im sayin. thats why im askin. this is the first time iv even thought about putin it on the road. it was used for a while as a track car but was trailerd there, after this weekend the carbs were set up properly and its just a rocket i love it and want it to be on the road. just lookin to see if alot of people keep them logged as the original engine.

inform the DVLA, doesnt cost anything. Sell the 1.4 engine etc, ring adrian flux and other decent insurers and get the 2litre on the road then gte it MOT'd as a 2litre.

at 19 i was running my corsa sport with 1.6 16v conversion, inlet, remap, bigger tb, exhaust, decat, ind kit, for under £880 with adrian flux

eh for fuk sake its off the road it is a track car and im looking to put it on the road and finding out how to get cheap insurance for it, i wouldnt drive without insurance! and if i did hit u uninsured id be taking you to the bank and givin u cash after being quoted fixin price. iv been hit with an unisured driver and it aint nice. but i came out on top getin alot of cash from him not to report it and got my car all smothed in while it was bein fixed.

he could have easily been driving a fully taxed, mot'd and insured 1.0 12volt.

Well yeah, is that not the whole point of insurance groups?
To stop young, inexperienced drivers killing themselves and other innocent people

At 18, with a 2L you'll probably be quoted at least £1500, if not £2000+

i have 2 corsa's both smoothed one a 1.4 which is fully road legal. just a run about until that guy hit me then started modifyin the exterior only. sorry for the confusion
