Finally got the Mantzel fitted. Took way too long. Managed to snap a bolt to hold the Mantzel on. I wasn't happy

I'll take some pics tomorrow. Taken a little drive round the block. It didn't seam that much quicker. Maybe a little hesitant when putting my foot down.

I think the drive to Stoke tomorrow will let be find out how much better it is.

As soon as it hits 5k then it's off.

But when i change gear it's at 4500 and b4 there was more poke there. It's like the Vtec kicked in Yooooo

But i need to drill out the snapped bolt and fit it propperly. Then i'll know how it's meant to be.

Need a remap, with a raised rev limit so you get rid of any flat spots and don't drop out of the power band when you change gear

mine never dropped from the powerband when changing gear or does this occur with only mantzels? as my dbilas was fine on standard limit

Anyway, a remap will make it much better, no matter what.

I think the remap might depend on how this engine is. It's smoking a lot at the mo and is not idleing. Feels like i have 359 cams

Went to the garage where i used to work and got the snapped bolt drilled out, tapped the threads again then fitted it all back together with gasket paste but that didn't work.

So in the end i limped it home. Drove to AutoVaux in my Astra and got another gasket and fitted it with lots of paste and i am now leaving it till the morning so the paste sets.

Well, this afternoon i decided that more than 12 hours have passed and that the paste should have set by now.

So with finger crossed i turned the key, it started and the revs sat at 1100 rpm (choke).

So i went for a drive round the block and everything seamed ok. Picked up from 25mph in 5th with no problems SORTED YES!!!

Whilst i was out i cought up to some traffic right behind a Z3 M. So i thought, why not.

We turned onto a 60 road and he gave it some stick and so i did. I manage to keep up "ish" but we started getting to silly speeds so he backed off and i did the same.

Result!!!!!! It works fine and i am very happy with it.

So far the two main things that i now think everyone who has either a C16XE, X16XE or a X14XE should get an inlet and a quickshift fitted. The car just feels sooooo much better. If you are thinking about buying one, DO IT. You'll be glad that you did.

Now i need to find a quickshift for a F23 box..................

I've now fitted a cold air feed to the air box. But it has to go from behind the bumper and up the wing side. Dam power steering pump is in the way for now.

Sorry no pics. My crap nokia phone won't work at the mo.

Since my Astra is off the road my Corsa has now turned into a work horse.

Just fitted 2.4m long.

Then some wall tops, the guy at the place said that it all weighs 250kgs. I set the shocks to hard and i had no problems.

Cheers Willay

man thats a bit lean at the top end there! id get it sorted asap..... running at lambda 1 at the top, fueling is messy!

perfect example that just bolting stuff on isnt necessarily the best thing to do for performance gains!

What would you say would be the best thing to get it sorted?

If you say remap how much.

Thing is, if i get monster's engine, i'll be fitting some cams to it and remapping that engine coz it's better specked.
