Fuel cosumption can be pretty good if driven sensibly, but obviously if you boot it around then bye bye petrol

ive been 135 in a xe corsa and xe nova on private roads

People have put about it 'just being a corsa' in the con's section.....personally i think thats in the pro's section...

Just the fact of beating quick cars in 'just a corsa' is what makes it all fun really!

2 litre pros....... (even though i have no xe)

at least a tenner a night - you know your contributing well to the ozone hole.
wheelspinning when changing into second is funny.
wheelspinning into 3rd is also funny if you get it right (not sure if corsa's will do it)
the noise is awesome.
look on suit's faces in their golf gti's and 2 series is funny as hell when you potter past hardly trying.

cons.....

oil leaks
anything mechanical.....the engine lmao.

just look after it. I check my oil and water every day and charge my battery once a week.

I thought this once though.

But now its more of an embarrasment.
You outpace an evo in a straight line, you smile knowing your pocket rockets just stuff that evo....

But then the evo will drive home, no issues, no rattles, no harder suspension etc. Then he spends £1500 on the evo and wastes the corsa in every way again, bar fuel consumption

On a track day, yeah, completely cool, going round that evo on a track is something to be pleased with...

But on the road, you just look like another boyracer in a modified corsa wanting a race. Which is exactly what Mr Ned in his chavved up Saxo/Corsa/Nova, big wheels, bigger graphics, and a can of XXXXL Backed Beans for a tailpipe wrapped in fake carbon fibre would do....

Mr Evo owner won't care if your actually really into cars/spotless car, he'll just see you as another boyracer.

I know it doesn't apply to everyone/everthing, but the majority will think this.

My 1.6 in my corsa would spin into 2 and 3rd if it was damp

It is funny when you keep up with cars that really don't expect it though, their faces are a pretty picture

I do about 280 with a mix or motorway and town and little bit of throttle now and again but mainly changin at 3k tops!

pro's - its fast init

con's - everyone will tell you lies about its handling, tell you theyre not that fast (mostly from people never owning one and whittie). if its not done right it will give you problems. do the conversion right and it wont. after all its just an engine in a car, nothing else.

sorry to quote you again, but i have to agree to this.

I had a 1.6 and yes, it was quick butwasn't anything o the road.
The XE now is something in my town to be looked at and warmed about, a random guy came p to me and said your the one with the Fast redtop'd corsa arnt you?

Basically you have 150bhp from std, and the engine isn't that muh heveier then a 1.6. Then on ARB's/good suspension and strut's IT WILL GO ROUD BENDS FAST!and handle just as good as anything else.

Please make it ot that you turn the wheel, but continue stright forwards!

yes gaz, theres a lot of people who have experienced poorly built ones that assume all are like that. theyre not. build a car properly it will handle fine.

i said it in another post. my old xe corsa was the best car ive ever had/built. without question.

the only reason why i would buy another car would be for either pratical car for a baby etc Or if my work asked me to use a company car.

In both case's though the corsa would become my night weapon.

i hate people that look down on you because you own a modded corsa .. at the end of the day its there problem . not yours .. looks like they will have to get there sodding evo or whatever re-maped so they can live with thier selves
