same spec as stevex16xe, think he got 125 on my dyno.

[bandwagon]But your rollers are dodgy dave[/bandwagon]

Agree though, 140 is way too much for the spec. 130 max tbh.

steves ok really. We have got a fantastic rep for the accuracy of our dyno recently, all cars that are modern and standard have made what they should, today we had the following results:

corsa VXR standard 192 bhp, our dyno: 192.5
Porsche boxter s standard 350, our dyno 346
focus st170 standard 168, our dyno 168
mini cooper s works standard 210, our duno 208
corsa 1.6 sport standard 106, our dyno 107

and many more.....

If I went and paid £40 for a dyno run and got way over the figures it should make I wouldnt pay for it.

I love you steve, its accuracy is all in the pram wheels and ladders

your car needs to make over 318bhp nic to break our FWD record our RWD record is 430 bhp from a well specced MR2 today.

stick a Vsport sticker on the boot. proven 20% power gain.

wonder if fitting 2, or even 3 will work

How do you decide that a dyno is accurate. And if there are so many inaccurate , how is it proved that one is accurate and the other is not.

Sounds like a couple of people on here have visited pretty much every roaling road in the world tbh

no if someone has reasonable power to match the mods then its going to be quite accurate, if you get 140 from said mods above its obviously not right, saying that non are going to be 100% accurate

all of the runs iv sseen off daves seem fairly accurate

I have visited and used a fair few. most modern dynos I have used have been accurate, older inertia, coastdown ones arent as accurate, some are just stupidly inaccurate.

its not su much the actual peak figure that proves accuracy but more down to repeatibility and clarity of how the dyno reads and translates the power onto a graph. som old dynos read only every 500 rpm and guess what happened inbetween, others read and plot a graph point up to 3200 times a second.

Its not all about peak power, but what happens between 1000rpm and peak rpm. dynos arent used to read peak power, far from it. they are mostly used to measure various factors at varying rpm's and loads. The last thing I look at when judging a cars performance on the dyno is the peak bhp, that is just a number. the AFR graphs and shape of the graphs are far more important.

not always how modern it is, but I would rather use a mchine that has a pc attatched with the latest software and measurement and calibration systems than an old 1975 dyno that is just connected to a big old printer that takes no account of air temps, barometric pressures, humidity, intake temps....

my dyno even measures the weight of the vehicle when driven into the rollers, then again when its all strapped down and its tyre pressures. and uses these variables in its final calculations.
