It would have to be a REALLY nice example to make me get a 993 over a 996 like this..

iv driven the 996 turbo and fuck me it shifts, didnt even realise i was doing 140 very very comfy, steering is light but meaningful, and had a leather interior which was nice, and good for tall people as well

You know what I think of 911s My next car will probably be a GT3, love them. The 997 GT3 RS looks fucking fantastic in that retro Green colour! 993s are nice, but only if it's a decent model (same with them all really).

Nik - Yup if i got a 996 id would have to bve a GT3 really...

Danny - you should try an old 911 still. Steering take a bit of getting used to. Light on straights at speed, turn in and it loads up.... then if it goes light again you know your going into that hedge backwards

Talking about Porsches my next car is going to be a Cayman S, in 3 years time. Not as much thrills as a 993 Turbo or any 911 for that matter but its meant to be an awsome car none the less.

Very true adam & as much as id say your right with my heart my head says the running costs for a Cayman would be much less than that of a 993 Turbo!!

Cayman is basically a boxter with a roof, although imo much more credable & 'manly' im my opinion. Should get a 3yr old one (obviously in 3yrs time!!) still under warranty for what 25-30k!?

no where near as nice as the first one though :/

That '993' isn't as nice as the other one, and is cheaper because it's a 964 Adam

My dad has one of the last 993 turbos produced. Its an X50 puttin out 450 BHP. Phenominal performance. He's a Porsche nut and proper enthusiast, and he thinks its the best of all the 911's. I'll post some pics up later.

Gt3 RS is an absolute Weapon too! When I was at nurburgring loads were going around! Full pelt... So quick.

This one part 'the foxhole' - I was hitting about 135-140 mph down it (which is scary to do anyway, as it's twisting and then bottoms out and goes sharply upwards and left at the bottom) - but these GT3 RS's were just pulling away from me down there no problem, they must of been doing 160 mph easy down there! and just to have that level of grip that they weren't sliding off must of been great for them

When I become rich I'll buy a Gt3 RS (or probably whatever is currently equiv), buy a house / appartment with garage at nurburgring and then live over there doing at least a lap a day to unwind

Ideally I want a job I can do from anywhere, like working on a solo software developing project good times hah.
