I think you would get away with a transit.. however room for spares may be an issue..

May i suggest a regular swb tranny van with a trailer.. may be a better option than a truck when taking spares into consideration

I'm just weary of transits as i've heard they are underpowered

They are the dirt cheap option though.

Spares can be kept in the skyline when traveling, thats not a large problem. Can rig up some tool boxes too, and possible a tyre rack if the cab is high enough, and bonnet low enough

Upto 3.5t is B isnt it

if i had endless funds and space, so would I..... Range Rover Sport, with twin axle trailer and tyre rack

I don't want to drive round in a van when i'm going to friends etc. And I'm not cracking open the 911 to use it all year round.

Getting the recovery truck is just the same as getting a trailer.... but we can get the Evo 8 as the run around
