Let's face it though it's nice to have nice tools....were men FFS.But there is no need to buy Snap On.

Buy Snap On tools.I have worked in Engineering for nearly 10 years and i still have spanners and screwdrivers etc from when i started that are crap makes and cost me about £20 all together.

like i said its just easier for me to buy snap on plus the tools look fookin sexy and they have a lifetime guarantee. i do have some halfords pro though, like my spanners. and i have halfords pro male torx sockets because i think thier better than the snap on ones.

yea i bought the box on finance. £45 a month over 2yrs so not that bad really

im not saying there is anything wrong with teng, but ive never seen teng tools in any shops near me so would be impracticle/ very hard for me to get teng tools. plus i like my snap on tools  . oh and i find that snap on have much more of a variety of tools. like my lever bar set, comes with 6 lever bars ranging from small to a huge fecker about 4.5 foot tall and and inch square thick metal.

yep work for vauxhall in richmond. done a 3yr apprenticeship there and bin qualified a year and a half. so thats 4 and a half years worth of tool.

yep thats exactly how i see it. plus im much more of a get involved in bigger jobs kinda guy. i get bored doin services so i need a wide veriety of tools really. might have to leave the place im at though cos they still treat me like a kid and pay me like shit even though i am more qualified than some of the older techs.

Thought id best get some pictures of my tool boxs, while i was at work today. Bout 5-6ks worth of snapon "shite" as you all keep saying. (btw, half of the stuffs missing as i was in middle of taking radiators, fan and steel coolant hoses out from under the rads.)
The Box and service trolly, Used for laptop and diagnostic work mainly, and to store my shite spanners in that are used to cut in half bend etc to make them fit things.
Screwdrivers, plier, picks etc draw
Ratchets, extensions etc etc
Sockets
Spanners, notice the 48mm
More Spanners, air tools and other stuff
The wrecking tools, chiesels, punchs etc
full 1/4" socket set, air chisel, hammers, charger etc for electric windy gun
Breakdown boxes, full of sockets, spanners etc
The cheap bendable/modyfiable spanners

i have aprox 3/4 k of tools, mostly snap on..
guy in work today bought a new box from snap on, basic rollcab and top box, 700 quid plus his old cab and top box.
i have a draper expert rollcab and topbox. never had any issues with it and for 400 all in im really pleased with it. had it around 5 years maybe abit more.
alot of the guys in work are going up to 3k on a toolbox.

If you work with tools day in day out then you can tell the difference in quality between snap on and cheaper brands.
I have an obscene amount of snap on tools. Not becuase i have no sense, or i'm a sheep and i did pay for them myself!
I buy sanp on for many reasons, they are top quality tools, if you want a part for a welder say in 10 years time it will still be serviced, my rep is a good personal friend, customers recognise snap on tools!
Yes thay are a lot of money but you are only buying them once!

i work with tools every day, but like fuck would i be paying £150 for a set of combi spanners from snap on when i can buy a set of facom spanners for les than half that

snap on is good, we had about 10 of the big boxes previously pictured at college, used on the few formula ford cars, 2 mk1 and 1 mk2 escort rally cars and the ka rally car. guess they must be shit then eh
