No as there's generally not anything in there worth stealing, it's the HU that's worth the money, not some non-original CD's.

I think the point he is trying to make is that they wouldn't bother breaking into the car in the first place if they had learned through experience that the stereo front is never left in the car.

well i might get a locking glovebox, mount my headunit in there, then make a blanking plate for where it went.

that'd be quite cool. but impractical

Mine is completely black and wont come off without setting the alarm off, thats if they get in without the alarm going off and then work out how the hell you get the HU off without starting the engine

What could be cool is one of those remote kits from halfords so on a popper

Mine is alarmed and deadlocked (Vectra)

Its an aftermarket headunit and unless the cars on the driveway at home i take the face off.
