Nothing, but you have got to think my SRi was highly tuned until it went bang.

highly tuned as in standard

Nope, bored pistons, to fit 1.6 ones, racing camshaft, lightened pulleys, super chip, and then a k&n and a back box for a bit of sound.

lol

An sri will keep up with a vtr upto a ton or so

[Edited on 27-11-2007 by RS SHORTIE]

An SRi? phase 1 VTR would leave it before a ton, a Phase 2 would kill it.

Even 16v SRi's would struggle.

What you talking about Eck, my SRi would beat Vtr's, and Vts's, I could keep up with Astra GSi's and just keep up with a tuned Cupra R.

Josh.. You're kidding right? Please tell me you are kidding

Hamish reckons i'm talking shit, but i'm not, my mate modded the SRi before I bought it off him, and then I would race my mates Astra GSi, and Saxo VTS, and I tried racing Alex at the TT shop on the road down to the college and the TT shop.

Josh you can beat VTS' but keep up with GSi's? A VTS keeps up with an XE in a Corsa... So with the extra weight in an Astra I'd imagine the VTS would win. No offence mate, but I don't for one second believe your car would beat a P2 VTR, let alone a VTS.

oh ffs. You ask my mates Elliot who owns a 1.4 Sport and my mate Spencer who owns the GSi, and he will tell you that I could keep up with him, and left Elliot behind, and ask my mate in Bedford who used to own the VTS and he will say.

keeping up with , and beating are two diffrent things. My VTS could keep up with a type R, not beat it though.

highly tuned as in standard

no had max power air filter and rage backbox from motosave, and a 20bhp+ resistor modification (ebay special)

would kill a civic type R that thing!

I've just bought a 2.0 8V corsa, I love it to bits. Got a F16 box in so does 125 in 5th but gets you there quick enough.

That it existed? Even an SRi that has been cam'd and superchipped would be lucky to get near 100bhp. That would be killed by a VTS

I remember Josh's Sri.
It was fast, I've seen it but whether it'd beat a VTS, I dunno. I reckon the Sri was running somewhere near 100bhp.
Personally, mod'd or not, I don't think a 1.4 8v could beat a 1.6 16v.

I think that this maybe did happen but the people he were racing didnt realise he was going for it and were just pottering along at the same speed? This makes the most sense and to me seems like the only logical explination or he is lying?
