Well im sure youll find out if the brakes are ok or not soon enough!

When i bought my 2nd impreza it was putting out 340bhp on standard WRX 2 pot calipers. The seller was like, yeah the brakes are really powerful stop it fine etc etc. Lets just say mine and his thoughts on what constitutes powerful brakes were different.

You can indeed, you can also increase the disk size by using 21 turbo disks with those calipers iirc. But if your not thrashing it on the track, standard should be alright, my mates used to easly lock the wheels at speed

Seth. I have just enquired about a big brake conversion and im waiting for a phone call back.Just so i know the price lol.

Im sure standard brakes can take 300bhp with a car that doesnt weight very much due to having No Interior.

Errr, not exactly hard
SepH, you and me are thinking the same about this i think (esp ref your top page 2 comment)....

I consider V6 288mm brakes on my 2.0 to be crap, same as 2.0 16v brakes really.... Thats a 950kg 155bhp car.... So a 300bhp, 800kg car, much smaller brakes is ok?

Not saying what you should or shouldn't do, but sit down, get a cup of tea, then think of the logic in it?

VXR, as you will see above I have already said I am looking into bigger brakes for the car just in case the standard ones are not up to scratch. The car will only be used on the road and possibly Pod.

Nope i don't think that at all. I've not driven a Corsa with V6 brakes that i've fealt totally confident with in stopping the car properly. Not balanced properly, poor pedal, they do get hot quite quick on a track day, even on a little car etc...

Yes they work, yes they stop the car better, but in my eyes of "good brakes", they don't fall into that class.

The Astras brakes are "ok" but i wouldn't call them good. They stop the car, but i don't have a huge amount of confidence in them. I would much rather the 4 pot upgrade as standard on a VXR.

Its not just how the car brakes. Its the bite, the pedal feel, the fade, the overall stopping power, the balance.....

Edthesneb... I think there is some tested upgrade kits about, I know they do a large 300mm brake kit. But with that power, look at decnet options.

Cheers VXR, i am defo going to look into the brake thing, but the size of the wheels could be an issue.

Crank, no mate its not me drifting about in the blue one. I have seen the little 19 year old t*sser driving it about thinkin he is G-Unit. Aint giving Lexus a good name tbh lol.
