Behave Dave a stock SRi Tubby makes 190 and if regularly serviced at Vauaxhall will no doubt have the more up to date map from Vauxhall so should be running 200bhp ish

Glad you don't work on any of my cars I am sure V Sport claimed the majority of 20XE's out there had 130 bhp

all astra sri turbo's came from the factory as standard with a different map to the astra Gsi. gsi came with 192 bhp and the sri had 175 bhp.

All of the mapping software I use confirms this and the official spec from vauxhall confirms this as well as autodata.

has anyone else ever actually opened an astra sri T map and compared it with a Gsi one? or are you guessing and going on internet chit chat and searching for specs on google?

stats from the OFFICIAL vauxhall dealer list:

Cubic capacity 2000
Cylinders 4
Max Power (bhp/rpm) 175/187*
Max Torque (lb ft/rpm) 171/184*
Town mpg 22.8*
Out of Town mpg 42.2*
Average mpg 32.1*
Fuel Unleaded**
Service Intervals 10,000

* dependant on model range and spec
** 97 octane fuel or higher

and thorney motorsport have them listed as 180 bhp on 98 ron fuel. Dastek have them down as a 175/192 dependant on model so do angel tuning (supply 90% of aftermarket map files that are used in the uk) have them listed as 175 bhp. Autodata 2007 asks you to input wether the car is an sri 175(ps) or Gsi 192(ps)

the official review in whatcar magazine (if anyone has it?) lists only the Gsi spec and not the Sri but in a later article they gave the spec of the Sri as 175 bhp.

The Map files themselfes are different.

just to clear a few things up - as I think Dave has his car models and mk's very mixed up!

Mk4 Sri turbo:

Z20LET - tech info 183BHP
Although many run around 192-205 due to most having an ECU upgrade flash at vauxhall at some point. Basically the same engine and BHP can be found in the Mk4 gsi, sri turbo, zaffy gsi, coupe turbo and finally the VX220 turbo. All running the F23 boxes and Z20LET engines. All with very much the same BHP give or take one or two.

Mk5 is different:

2.0 sri turbo - Z20LEL (tech 175BHP)

This is basically the same as the Z20LET and can be eaisly mapped to get the 195BHP of the Z20LE again runs an F23 box.

2.0 Turbo VXR - Z20LEH - tech info 240BHP

modified version of the Z20LET with a fair amoutn of internal differances as well as ECU. This runs an M32 6 speed box.

However just confuse you a little more the new Mk 5 turbo has the 1.6 turbo from the corsa VXR in it so again back to 175BHP.......
