It was that Nova GTE guy that has the ZM roadster now. iirc it only had 12k on the clocks & rarely left the garage!! Big expence, if 15k is your limit then your best avoiding TVR imo!!

You pay your money you take your choice my sahn. Just for me at the minute a 250bhp 2 seater 6 sec 0-60 would be just dandy for weekend runs. Evos are great cars, but the powers a bit off/on for me to enjoy at a time im trying to relax. Id probably find myself constantly gunning it & getting in trouble

That would be 12k to Honda/Audi mod it...and 7/8k for a doner car at the cheapest.

I'd say VX220 Tubby or something special like an e30 m3
I personally think these are an investment as they are an apreciating classic thats quite sought after.

TVR always my dad has one for a weekend car, 4.0ltr V8 TVR chimera, he didnt have anything go wrong with it at all, sometimes there not as bad as people make them out to be.
servicing and parts breaks etc can be quit dear but not dearer than say a land rover.
the TVR chimera, griff, cerbra. are bits of other cars together, vauxhall switches, land rover engines, ford hubs etc.
you will smile when you drive 1 and also the noise they make are something else.

e30 m3 is a good shout but i see them as a bit special for just a weekend car unless your an enthusiast, also there not that quick(going by other M cars) but they are supposed to be great fun to drive.
you can pick up an e39 m5 now for that money, 400bhp v8 luxury rocket, or how about an earlier audi s4 with some upgrades to bring it to rs4 pace.
if your feeling brave try the bmw e34 5 series aplina b10 twin turbo
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/292377.htm
e34 m5 is also worth considering and supposed to be a riot to drive

i agree with fad on m3 or even a more modern m3 they must have around 320 odd bhp and very nice cars, from what i hear bmw are better to deal with than say ford/vaux dealerships for repair/servicing by a long way.
other cars i would consider are,
newer honda integra lovely looking and under budget so could tune slightly,
tvr yeshhhhh love them but everyday running but tbh if you can spare couple of k just for problems will be fine i think,
think vx220 turbo gets my vote,
or my fave a vauxhall monaro
