Done everything on mine myself outside the house, no garage or nowt! feckin freezing cold aswell and it was raining some of the time!. Still now I know everything is done how it should be. Quite an easy conversion really TBH. Hardest part is getting the bolts to go straight in the engine mounts. Anyone local to me need a hand doing 1, gis a shout!

in my last nova we replaced the engine and mounts (2 litre 8v ) so i guess its like a conversion as we also put in a new engine loom. Was actually straight forward but had niggling problems like gear linkage etc but ran fine.

For my rebuild got Vsport to do it and it hasnt been that good an experience really. Non stop problems Havent driven it for about a month now and is starting to rust.

Whats the scope with an XE conversion, i've done a 12xe to 14xe and had to change the loom, is it the same idea with the XE or is there a way you can join the looms?

Random question of today

You just change the engine loom and join it to the car loom inside where the ecu is

Were is the best place to source the engine from? I've seen a few on ebay, or is it worth a trip round a few of the local scrappers?
