Rooney is banned, and not sure if Saha is playing or not. Said he was nearly ready to return.

I reckon he'll play Welbeck alongside Tevez.

Unless he goes with Welbeck and Dong LMAO

Ah, forgot Rooney was banned.

Will be great for the kid to get the experience of such a big game, but is a huge huge risk to setting his development back if he has a stinker.

Supposed to be the next big thing, local lad playing for his local team etc.

He'll either put in a good peformance or show that hes not quite ready yet.

Villa 2-1 Newcastle

Villa keep this up and Europe is pretty much guaranteed this season I think.

Probably, I can think of a few young players we've had that are now playing in the Championship! Shawcross being an example.

We've had a few too, loads of local lads who were labelled as the new Gerrard or Fowler, and have done nothing when sent out on loan or given the chance in the first team in cup games.

Same with the foreign lads, we've beaten other teams to players labelled as the next [insert famous player here] in their home land and then done nothing...Le Tallec, Cheyrou, etc.

Theres only really Anderson and possibly Nani thats getting a chance at the moment. Pique hasn't featured for ages and everyone else has either been loaned out or sold.

If they are good enough they will always get the chances though, it bugs me when people say that they dont get chances as the top teams just buy the top talent and dont bring the kids though - but thats just rubbish.

At the moment out reserve team has a few promising players in, both ones we've bought in and local lads - and they will all get the chance eventually if they show enough talent. The main problem at the moment is the fact the reserve league is just a shockingly low standard so the young ones get shown up when given the chance.

Villa can give anyone a game nowadays, I reckon half decent investment in the summer and you'll have a potential top 4 side on your hands.
