I'd be quite happy if they brought out a zero alcohol policy altho I fail to see how you could enforce it because of next day driving etc

Shut it you!
2 pints of say, Carling, surely can't be over the limit?? If it is then I'd better modify my thinking lol!!
2 pints of carling is over the limit. 1 pint is ok but 2 is over.
same as 1 pint of stella is just over the limit iirc

it is a confusing grey area really. but i have always believed that 1 pint of carling is ok but stella isn't. so surely that would make 2 carlins atleast, if not more, units than 1 stella

In theory yes... im concerned now, not that its unsafe (in my eyes as it never affects me) but I wouldnt like to get caught out legally either given how far i drive to work everyday!

if tho it doesnt seem to affect you, it still may. I know when ive had a carling with my dinner before and then drove not long after I felt a bit different.

nope, thats 4 and 2 i think.
limit is 5 and 3 due to women having roughly the smae amount of blood but 60% of the water content of men. somethin like that

I personally wouldn't have anymore than one drink, if i lost my licence i'd lose my job.
If anybody is interested on working out how many units are in any drink heres the following formula-
ML X VOL X 0.001 = the units in that drink.
One pint is 568ml X one pint is on average 4% vol X 0.001 = units 2.27

Also if its only just over they arrest you under suspicion and test you again properly at the station which again give you more time... If your under at the station they can't do anything.
I don't condone drinking and driving, there simply isn't an excuse for it. If your going to drive just have a coke. You might feel ok but thats drugs playing with your brain giving you confidence!
They cant tell if your only just over; the testing kit gives either a red, amber or green light. Green is completely clear, amber is alcohol present but below legal limit, red is alcohol present above legal limit.
You will only be arrested if you blow red, but red could be 1mg over of 5 times over. They can't tell which at the roadside; the actual test for which you will have a formal arrest and charge is undertaken at the station.
I was arrested for drink driving and I hadn't been drinking or driving, copper never showed me the handset at the road side and when I got to the station I blew a zero on the the actual testing machine; the one which gives the reading

handheld machine at the roadside gives a number, not a light
