Or put an x16xe engine in yours, or a c20xe

I have a X16XE in mine and no chance. Not in a million years is a big lump going in my Corsa's engine bay.

i had the same hassle my old 1.2 8v was killing me with mpg with mainly all motorway miles. sometimes my weekly fuel bill was coming in at around 75 quid and always 50 odd.

for a work journey of 350 miles per week

It wont help only doing 3miles in these temperatures. In 3 miles, mine didnt even register on the gauge this morning, lookly i do about 11miles to work so the engine gets warm

Sounds about right to be fair.......think about it the auto choke would be on for most of that journey and the engine getting no where near warm so explains poor mpg plus the wheels and exhaust wont help,if you want more mpg saxos and 106 are good. The worst my 1.6 sport has returned is 30 mpg and best 42 mpg on a very long run down the motorway

Your local council/trading standards should be responsible to looking after what pumps are dispensing and making sure it's accurate. Aim your queries at them and ask when your sites were last tested.

When mine was a 1.2 8v the lowest I got out of it was 230 miles to a tank. Highest was 400

I'm doing my Corsa for track days. 2 people can lift the X16XE engine and gearbox. Good luck picking up the C20XE

Plus most have now done over 100k now. Old engine and old technology. Out with the dinosaurs

my 1.2 8v is standard and I was getting 36 mpg, I stripped and rebuilt the engine and it went up to 38 mpg, not sure why?........then I put 17 inch wheels on and its now doing 34 mpg.

but I don't 'rag' it at all nice and steady everywhere.
