Lot more effort fitting a real one, plus its not easy to remove when you sell the car. Having a proper cage would seriously limit the market for your car.

You can't make the comparison imo one's for a purpose the other does nothing.
So it's like saying 'i'm going to fit footwell l.e.d's instead of a proper cage' as they serve completely seperate purposes.

does it mean that my cage would make my car be laughed at by enthusiasts? mines an mps ally cage so in theory its a show cage cause its not gona stand up aswell as a propper fia cage.
i think that the dimma cages are pointless cause they dont go newhere but i dont see mine as pointless cause it is a full rear cage

Back to the point about it being because it looks good and nothing else.
I don't know what looks good about it though?
If you have a real one you may do trackdays or some form of motorsport etc, if you have a show one what do you say to people when they ask, what looks good exactly?

I think they're stupid as they don't provide further safety, they'll bump your insurance up and its a pain in the backside for passengers. Not to mention the fact you'll get laughed at off genuine car enthusiasts.
It is actually, it's blizzards outside

I didn't mean non whatever official body approved when i said show cage, I don't know the ins and outs, I meant ones that are solely some shiny poles in the back.

If it serves a purpose other than looking like you have internal scaffolding then no mate that's not what i, or i think anyone else, was getting at!

take my car as an example.. it has a show cage, i bought it purely for looks, my rear passengers dont have any trouble getting in or out (ok maybe they have to duck slightly)
ive been to cs meets with it fitted.. no one has ever come up and said you should take it out, its looks shit, its pointless etc..
infact its had positive comments from a few premium members on here
