Well i bough the spax rsx coilovers which are probably like budget i would say...they've been alright to be honest, bit of a harsh ride tho, the rear set up is just a shock and seperate spring, so only really front coilover i guess? For the money though i've been more than happy with them

Ive had sets of these on both my corsas. 40mm kit on my 1.2 and 60mm kit on the gsi

I will agree with the others and say that they are not the best kit out there. But they have served me well. A little harse ride but hey thats what you get with a lowered car. Was out on the track today with mine and nothing fell off and I didnt crash

ye but even if your rich doesnt mean you have to waste it.

My mates corsa has a gmax setup and apart from being rough, theyre fine. hes had them on his corsa now about 4 years and doesnt bother him being rough.

Even my old mk2 golf had a gmax setup and it seemed alright to me.

To be brutally honest I do not understand why you have asked this question? A fair few people have said to buy better quality and you have stated in responce that you cannot afford it?

However, here is my input (bear in mind I have owned the following brands that I am commenting on, most people doing so on here probably haven't!)

G-Max, I had a 60mm kit of shocks and spring on my old GSI. They were good for the overall look and gave a surprisingly good ride quality. I am led to believe they are standard poundage though? I also have -60mm springs on the rear of my current Corsa. Non adjustable.

Spax, The worst shocks I have ever had, my XE Nova handled crap, it crashed and banged over every bump and left me with no confidence in the car. The springs sagged to a massive extent. Adjustments seem to make little to no difference.

Koni's, Have them on the R5GTT and found them to be fantastic. Far better ride quality and a world of difference in handling compared to my old R5GTT which had Spax. (Both cars had same tyre makes and sizes and are lowered the same amount) Nice range of adjustment.

AVO coilovers, have them on my current Corsa, fantastic on smooth flat roads but you grit your teeth when you see a grain of sand on the road. Not a huge fan TBH but I am an old fart. Adjustments make little difference again.

I won't comment on other makes as I have no direct experience of them. Hope that helps.

it actually does, youv owned all of them and not even really slated g max, i realy cant afford top quality as im as broke as a joke, but cheers for the info,
wouldnt the xe nova handle crap because of the extra weight in the xe and using normal nova poundage springs?

RIGHT i think people are jumping on the band wagon here, i've had g-max for over 2 years and have NOT had a problem at all, on my "rally car to be" it had -60mm springs and shocks 3 of the springs were snapped and a shock was fooked BUT it had done about 100,000 miles on them so g-max is actually not bad for the money really.
my verdict yes go for them
