its worse when people that dont know anything about cars think they do, and then try to tell you about them.

"my 1.2 was eaisly keeping up with a 1.6"

im sure.

it's like anything tbh, if you are knowledgable (sp) about something which your friend has no clue about its always going to be annoying that you have too explain how it works or what something means....

I only know a small amount about cars and I concider myself a noob among many on CS but in comparison to some people I know.... I feel like a mechanical god

Unless the exhaust is coming off a V8! Then people just gaze in awe.

i'm still good friends with someone from school who is adamant that his parents 1.8 escort estate that he used to borrow could easily do 150mph

an escort cossie can't even do that with at least twice the power.

she got any like minded female friends hamish?

nah that's another thing that bugs me slightly, is girl's who are classed as 'into cars' - just because they like a ferrari or they watch the f1... (this compared to the non car people, make them extremely car orientated in their eyes)...

Then you actually say something truely related to a car, and they just stare at you blankly like 'say what now?' and you just think fuck sake, you know nothing do you!

My mate's g/f is like this. He was telling me for ages how i'd get on really well with her, since she's 'into cars', did 'marshalling at a race circuit' and stuff...

Oh cool I thought. Met her, fucking clueless...

Just so happens my mate knows less than her, so she seemed to be very knowledgable to him.
