i dont give a fuck about it..even if global warmings true ill be long dead when anything happens
My point was if the goverment care so much about carbon emmisons why tax people who run on 100% veg oil but not charge the people who drive electric cars which depend on fossil fuels to charge them.

I wasnt hinting you personally was bothered
I agree though, runing a Derv car on used veggie oil is far more eco friendly than a leccy car
the government are tossers, I dont think they have an ounce of sense between them

Thanks ed
Looking into it, your right, a few cars have some sort of fuel heating system. Infact it was an optional extra on nova, cavalier etc... for cold climates
bonus if you want to run veg

I wanna know that as well. I'm not bothered about investing £100 in a veggie oil heater. Would the 106 1.5D (S2) with a Lucas pump run on 100% veggie with a heater before the pump? 1.5TD corsa?

I've read the lucas pumps can't take the veg oil??? Thankfully my 1.5TD corsa does indeed have a bosch pump

I think it can't take the THINK veggie oil. Hence the heater. TBH I think i'd invest £60 in an ebay one for a Bosch Pump anyway

I get waste cooking oil free
Also Government have scrapped the duty paid on the first 2500litres of production per annum.
As such:
2500 litres = 547.6 UK Gallons
40ish MPG gives 21903miles of "TAX" free fuel.
If you can get waste oil free as I can, buy distilling/processing equipment for ca £2000; you cold make your money back in the first 1700litres; so 1 year and you're proffiting!
Oh, there is methanol to buy, but thats a very low proportion

OK dumb it down for us.
I am going out to use veggie in a car.
Can I buy a 1.5D 106 with a Lucas fuel pump
Install one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/_Car-Parts-Accessories__VOW2C-Veg-oil-Bio-diesel-Fuel-Heater-Heat-Exchanger_W0QQitemZ170227700844QQadnZCarQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQadiZ4257QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170227700844&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Fill up with 90%-100% filtered, used veggie oil or off the shelf veggie oil?
Without it going bang?

Ed, are you serious? It will go through a Lucas fuel pump? The ones that "don't like veg".?

"This type of conversion does have a down side. Cold starts are a little harder and additional stress is placed on the pump. This could shorten the life of the pump. No Bosh pumps have failed but 4 Lucas pumps have failed in the last 2 years"
Lucas arn't has hardy as bosch. Its the thickness of veg oil thats the issue. My old man mixes 45l veg oil with 5l parafin to thin it
heating it thins it out too

Just wait till the winter veg oil goes solid in cold weather

It turns to gel rather than going solid. Mineral diesel can do it too, as can jet fuel in aircraft.

It does go solid if cold enough and it blocks the injectors etc.
