Need to take into account how much more this beasties going to cost to run.
think the fuel tank are 55 liters on these the MPG sounds about right what you said. although mite see late teens if you like the noise 2 much

Colin my mates selling his 330ci sport, triptronic, 2001 model with all the goodies
Its got 46kmls on the clock with the FBMWSH in MINT condition. He wants around the £10k mark for it but is willing give a little on the price
He comes from Maddiston/Redding area as well so its only 10 mins away from you so it might be worth your while to go have a wee look at it

The fuel tank is 63litres. From completely dry, to full, at 119.9p/litre = £75.54
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Detail.aspx?deriv=32084
If you get one of these:
1) It has to be a facelift.
2) A diesel because of the miles you do

Why a facelift, I thought it was only lights anyway which could be bought?? Facelift one 04+ would cost 14k+......which is almost M3 Money!?
I may be cutting down a bit on the miles.....car sharing!! Also my golfs 63 quid to fill so the bmw isnt much more!

Rear lights yes, and if it's a certain age, it might need another module within the connectors. However the front lights are different meaning new wings, alloys are different as are the front bumpers, slightly.
With E46 M3's it's only the rear lights

Got the bug myself Colin! Been lookig for a 330d (had to coprimise)
Also I agree with Deano always buy the facelift as they wont depreciate like a lead baloon due to the fact they are less desireable.

Also due to the fact its an early 2001 car I think you may be exempt from the tax band reclasification hence scrap the whole facelift bollocks

Plus, that is a BMW Individual, therefore will hold value slightly better.
I only mentioned facelift, because I think they look much much better and fresher.
I didn't know they 3.0litre engine was introduced in early 2001 time, 'cause of the 328Ci?!
