True and if you had the money and time and it was a project im sure there would be other options. But people us the c20xe for a reason, As a rule 1k you have a 2litre corsa up and running, cheap as chips, producing between 130-150bhp and good torque

Sounds like theres not much money.
Stick another 1.4, sell it is what i'd say.
But if you want to keep it, 2.0...
Unless you can find a good running C16, in which case go for that and u'll have about 140-150+bhp with mods. Better than X16.
But frankly, i'd put another 1.4, sell it.

16xe FTW, C20xe only around 150bhp standard
Tune the 16xe, high lift cams and that puts it into the 160bhp range faster than a redtop already! Inlet and exhaust mani will put it right into the 180's!

+2 it will never reach 180 without decent management and that cost more than the budget so 20xe 156bhp +

xe seems a boring conversion now.every show you go to you see the bonnets lifted with an xe in.id prefer to be different and either z18xe it or be like m sutton and 1.6 8v it .difference and originality is where its at!
