My experience of them is brilliant in the dry, very grippy. But their wet weather performance is terrible.

If you want to pay twice the price!

Ive had them on my S3's and they've been superb, cant fault them for the money i paid. They are budgets but they better than all of the hong-kong-fooey dogshit tyres you see kicking about.

I'm in the same boat. When dry, they are quite good tbh! When wet however, they are absolutely criminal.

They last 5 minutes too but who cares when they cost so little they do seem to be better suited to RWD cars too for some reason?

Why do you guys thing they are shit ? Other than the life of the tyre?

Also which tyre did you have?

I'm talking about the KU-31 Ecsta SPT, the one with the rim protectors.

I had one of the Ecsta range on my xe for temporary tyres and was plesantly suprised with them so much so I didnt bother changing them. Were a bit noisy when lit up but other than that was a prettygood all round tyre rain or shine.

Since then I am sure they have advanced their range somewhat.

I would say 100% of people slating them havent even had a set

In perspective, in the wet my VTR would be spinning up until the end of 3rd gear on Kumho's when giving it death A whopping 113bhp

Dunno..... How good is your guessing

All I know is, the tyres were a hard compound, lasted thousands of miles, have more than 1/2 their life left. Gripped ok when warm in the dry, but in wet it was more "dabble" the throttle instead of push it
