I'm in the accident & repair buisness, and we hate working on French cars, my mates sister has a 172 Clio Cup and that's more rusty than mine and his Corsa together, and it's 6 years younger.

I was under the impression that french was junk but decided to give one a go.

on the 106 listen to the gearbox closely the bearings tend to go in the gearboxs

trailing arm bearings on rear beam, can be fixed.
gear linkages.
abs sensors
lambda sensors
worn gear synchros
you are saying they are shite. but ive had a lot more trouble with vauxhalls than citroens. saying that i own a vaux now and am after another

well i wanna buy one...something i never did so now i need one...and have the chance to get one...and...somemore...n...

Right im going to look tomora now...as got caught up at work till it was too late and that...just had a quick look at a vts down the road and quite like it...was a wee bit worried about idleing sounds...going to look at the gti tomora so know wots wot...hopefully get it taxed & insured as soon as i get one home...then its time to take it down the twisties LMAO! looking forward to one though...cheers for all the helpfull and also the un helpfull replys...might still buy a corsa for a project aswell for xmas
