the n96 had MASSIVE potential, would have been the ideal time to get the Zeiss 8.1 lense in a phone, and to bring back premium slide metal handsets. instead we get this, and nokias next shitty plastic n85.

means it is ready to receive digital tv in the uk-when somebody will agree to it which will be never.
oh also, there is a firmware update for n96 already to solve 3g streaming issues.

yeh EVERY uk network told em jog on. would cost more per year than basic sky subscription on a tv.

got dummy models in today, didnt look too bad at all
I was dissapointed by spec, but that said. The camera would be the only thing it needed tbh. An n95 is still one of the most capable phones on the market currently.
I shall wait till we get ours to give a verdict

hmmm been reading up, major flaw in it!!
the N95 (Mk1) had a BL-5C bat 900mh IIRC, the N96 has a BL-5F (same as N95 8gb) but its only 900mh where as the BL-5F in the N95 8Gb was 1200mh (if that makes sense)

Im in 2 minds at the mo, got the 8Gb and there isnt really much difference between the two?
Tempted to go for an iPhone?
i had the n95 8gb and then went to the iphone 3g.Imho the iphone is so much better and easier to use and has a lot more/better features and interface.I also sold the n95 on ebay as 12 months old(which it was) and got £200 for it!
iphone ftw really.

I have heard that the battery lasts slightly longer than the n95 8gb

Mixed opinions really.
I like the look of it, although its finger print heaven!
Pros:
Video Quallity is spot on!
Stylish
kick stand is cool
Memory
Symbian OS
Cons:
Nothing really new from the N95
No way of telling how much memory is left!!
Slowish (doesnt seem as fast as the N95 8Gb)
Digi Tv doesnt work over here.
All that aside, theres plenty of things i dont like, doesnt really seem like a new phone, but IMO the N95 8Gb was a phone that is hard to beat, and it was jammed with functions anyway, there isnt really much more they could do apart from add memory and give it a new look!
its slimer than the 8Gb, a tad long and a tad wider, its lighter than the 8gb too!
the thing i like about the N series is the Symbian OS, theres just soooo many apps avalible out there, i expect i will end up keeping it as i love the fact i can download movies etc... bosh them straight on there (without converting them or anything) and play them, and even use the TV out function.
I am going to have a closer look at the iPhone this sat, but that has its pro's and cons too!
